Philippine Navy deploys 2 Patrol Boats to increase maritime activities in Visayas

Amid the ongoing Enhanced Community Quarantine in Philippines, the Philippine Navy (PN) deployed two patrol boats to support maritime operations in the Visayan Region on April 03, 2020.

The Littoral Combat Force of the Philippine Fleet sent off PB-356 and PB-358 boats (which were newly donated by China in 2018) of the 5th Patrol Boat Division aboard BRP Bacolod City (LS550) logistics support vessel at Captain Moya Boat Landing in Sangley Point of Cavite City.

Littoral Combat Force Commander of the PN, presided the Send-off Ceremony, and personally supervised the successful conduct of lifting and loading operations of the patrol boats. After receiving the completeness & readiness for deployment of PB356 and PB358, the commander thanked the combined efforts of the personnel from different naval units involved including the Naval Combat Engineering Brigade, Naval Logistics Center, Naval Shipyard of Naval Sea Systems Command and LS550 of the Sealift Amphibious Force of the PN.

Deployment plays a very crucial role in the PN’s effective conduct of maritime patrol operations, internal security operations and logistics support missions with the end view of better serving the Filipino people, guided by the PN’s mandate of protecting national interests of Philippines.
