Russia’s latest Project 20380 corvette set to begin shipbuilder’s trials

Rezkiy, the fourth corvette of Project 20380 built for Russia’s Pacific Fleet, arrived in Vladivostok on Friday for outfitting, anchoring, and shipbuilders’ sea trials, Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Sergei Avakyants said.

“The Rezkiy, which arrived in Vladivostok from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, was rolled out of the Zeya self-propelled dock today. The corvette has been delivered to the Amur Shipbuilding Plant in Vladivostok for outfitting and preparation for mooring and shipbuilders’ sea trials “The commander of the Pacific Fleet stated.

According to the admiral, “the new corvette is scheduled to start duty with the Pacific Fleet in 2022.”

The Russian Pacific Fleet currently operates the corvettes Sovershenniy, Gromky, and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov from Project 20380.

Corvettes in Project 20380 are intended to perform green-water missions, combat enemy surface ships and submarines, and provide artillery support for amphibious assault operations. This sort of corvette incorporates the most recent technologies for decreasing physical fields. Shipbuilders, in particular, greatly decreased their radar signal during construction by using radio absorption materials and constructing their hull and superstructure specifically.
