Discover the Centaure armored vehicle of the French Gendarmerie during its first participation in the Bastille Day military parade on July 14, 2025, on the Champs-Élysées. Built in France by Soframe, this 14.5-ton 4×4 is the successor to the VBRG after more than 50 years of service.

Designed as a Multi-Purpose Intervention Vehicle (VIPG), the Centaure can transport 10 personnel and is equipped for law enforcement, counterterrorism, crisis response, and disaster relief missions. Its modular design allows integration of various systems such as remote weapon stations, optronic sensors, CBRN protection, and drone platforms.

In this video, Squadron Leader Guillaume from the Mobile Gendarmerie Armored Group (GBGM) presents the Centaure during parade rehearsals. This interview provides an inside look at the vehicle’s role in modernizing the Gendarmerie mobile and its operational deployment in metropolitan France, overseas territories, and potential external operations.
