Harbour trials of Karakurt Class Corvette “Odintsovo” begins

Project 22800 Karakurt class corvette named “Odintsovo”, built at the Pella shipyard in St. Petersburg, begun moored trials at Pella shipyard (located at St.Petersburg), the Information and Communications Department of the Russian Ministry of Defence announced on 17th February. During the trials radio navigation systems, the main power plant and the communication systems will be tested.

The factory sea trials of the ship is scheduled to begin in April of this year.

“Odintsovo” is the first production ship of project 22800, on which the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile-gun complex (SAM) is installed. The ship’s displacement is 800 tons, hull length is 67 meters, width is 11 meters. Speed ​​- 30 knots, cruising range – 2500 miles, autonomy – 15 days. The indigenous power plant includes three M-507D-1 diesel engines and three DGAS-315 diesel generators. The ship is equipped with Kalibr missiles.
