Türkiye Reveals TUNGA-X Autonomous Drone Killer

0

Türkiye has unveiled the new TUNGA-X autonomous interceptor drone at SAHA 2026 in Istanbul, introducing a cost-effective counter-UAS solution designed to neutralize hostile drones through high-speed autonomous interception.

Developed by STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., the TUNGA-X is engineered to detect, track, and destroy enemy unmanned aerial vehicles in contested airspace using autonomous engagement capabilities and rapid reaction performance.

The interceptor drone is designed to counter the growing threat posed by loitering munitions, FPV drones, and low-cost tactical UAVs that have become increasingly dominant in modern conflicts. By combining autonomous targeting with high maneuverability, TUNGA-X provides an affordable layered air defense capability against drone swarms and asymmetric aerial threats.

STM positions the TUNGA-X as a flexible solution for protecting military bases, critical infrastructure, maneuver units, and strategic assets from hostile unmanned systems during high-intensity and hybrid warfare operations.

The unveiling reflects Türkiye’s accelerating investment in autonomous warfare technologies and counter-drone systems as unmanned threats continue to reshape battlefield tactics across land, air, and maritime domains.
