The United States has completed a rare and highly significant flight test campaign of the B61-12 nuclear bomb using an F-35 stealth fighter at the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada. Conducted from August 19 to 21, the trials verified the safe carriage, release, and performance of inert B61-12 units, confirming full system reliability. This marks the only stockpile test series involving the B61-12 and the F-35 to date, signaling progress toward nuclear certification for the fifth-generation fighter.
