Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has refined its 105mm wheeled fire support vehicle under Project Cheetah, moving from the D2 prototype revealed in 2024 to the latest D3 configuration shown in August 2025. The D3 focuses on a lower profile under 3 meters, improved balance, and increased ammunition capacity, while keeping a 105mm rifled gun for mobile direct fire support and anti-tank missions. Taiwanese defense documents released in July 2025 also point to a roadmap for mass production starting in 2028, with planning signals for around 500 vehicles and two turret configurations.
