MKE Reveals Türkiye’s New Generation Layered Air Defense and Mobile Firepower

0

At SAHA Expo 2026 in Istanbul, Turkish defense company MKE showcased a new generation of artillery, layered air-defense, naval ammunition, mine-clearing systems, and small arms designed for the realities of modern high-intensity warfare.

🎥 In this exclusive DefenseWebTV interview, Army Recognition Group speaks with Mr. Tolga M. Celik, Deputy General Manager of MKE, who presents the company’s latest combat systems and explains how Türkiye is building an increasingly integrated and sovereign defense-industrial ecosystem.

🛡️ One of the central highlights of the exhibition was the TOLGA VSHORAD system, a layered very short-range air-defense architecture developed to counter drones, loitering munitions, helicopters, and other low-altitude threats. Rather than relying on a single effector, TOLGA combines radar systems, hard-kill interceptors, soft-kill capabilities, electro-optical tracking, and electronic warfare solutions into a flexible defensive ecosystem adapted to modern battlefield conditions.

⚡ MKE also unveiled new technologies integrated into the TOLGA architecture, including a Laser Weapon System, an Acoustic Sensor, and the ENFAL-17 low-altitude missile. Together, these systems expand TOLGA into a multi-layer counter-UAV and air-defense solution capable of detecting, tracking, disrupting, and neutralizing aerial threats through complementary defensive layers. The ENFAL-17 missile adds an affordable hard-kill interceptor option designed for the growing challenge posed by mass drone warfare.

🎯 In the artillery domain, MKE presented the URAN 105 mm mobile artillery system, combining the operational experience of the BORAN lightweight howitzer with a highly mobile 4×4 tactical platform. Designed for rapid “shoot-and-scoot” operations, URAN gives land forces a fast-moving fire-support capability adapted to dispersed operations, border security, mountain warfare, and rapid reaction missions.

🚛 MKE also introduced the ATTİLA 155 mm truck-mounted howitzer, a NATO-standard high-mobility artillery system mounted on a Tatra 6×6 chassis. Developed for modern counter-battery environments, ATTİLA combines mobility, rapid deployment, and sustained firepower with a 155 mm 52-caliber gun capable of supporting high-intensity combat operations.

⚓ Beyond air defense and artillery, MKE showcased additional systems supporting modern battlefield operations, including the ALPAY-2 minefield breaching system, the MALAMAN smart naval mine, new 130 mm naval chaff ammunition for ship protection, and the MKE-300 Blackout rifle designed for special operations and close-quarter combat missions.

🌍 MKE’s presence at SAHA Expo 2026 demonstrated Türkiye’s growing ambition to develop complete, NATO-compatible, and export-oriented combat systems based on national engineering and industrial sovereignty. Through systems such as TOLGA, ENFAL-17, URAN, and ATTİLA, MKE is positioning itself as one of the central pillars of Türkiye’s evolving defense industry and its drive for strategic autonomy in modern warfare.
