🎥 Army Recognition Group had the opportunity to interview Major Grégory, Commandant of the Belgian Infantry School in Arlon, to discuss the integration of the Griffon armored vehicle and the growing cooperation between Belgian and French land forces under the CaMo partnership.
🛡️ As the first Belgian unit to adopt CaMo standards, the Belgian Infantry School is playing an important role in this transformation. Its close cooperation with the French Infantry School in Draguignan covers doctrine, tactical procedures, training, and capability development, while preserving key elements of Belgian military doctrine.
⚡ At the center of this modernization is the Griffon, which is progressively entering service with the Belgian Land Force. Major Grégory describes the transition as an evolution rather than a revolution, building on Belgium’s experience operating modern AIV and Dingo vehicles while introducing new operational concepts and greater interoperability with France.
🚙 Belgium is fielding several Griffon configurations, including infantry vehicles equipped with 7.62 mm or .50-calibre weapon stations, EPC command-post vehicles, Griffon ATK MMP anti-tank variants, as well as MEPAC and engineering versions supporting specialized missions.
🇧🇪🇫🇷 Beyond the vehicles themselves, CaMo is bringing Belgian and French forces closer through the development of a common binational doctrine. French operational concepts are adapted and combined with essential elements of Belgian doctrine to meet the requirements of both armed forces.
🌍 As additional Belgian units receive Griffon vehicles over the coming years, the program will support the continued modernization of the Belgian Land Force while reinforcing long-term interoperability and cooperation with France.
