INS Tabar conducted a maritime partnership exercise with ENS Alexandria in the Mediterranean Sea on 05 September 2021, the Indian Navy announced.

The exercise included a variety of activities that covered a broad range of naval operations. These included transit drills through an asymmetric threat environment, interdiction operations at sea, communication procedures, joint development of a maritime domain picture, and replenishment at sea drills. The cross-deck helo operations were a highlight of the exercise, which included helo recovery procedures and airborne light replenishment drills between the two ships.

The exercise significantly benefited the two navies’ interoperability and expanded the scope for future combined operations against common maritime threats. The maritime partnership exercise concluded with a traditional ‘Steam Past’ between the two ships.

INS Tabar recently carried out bilateral training with Algerian and Moroccan navies.
