Russian warships conduct live missile firings in the Sea of Japan

During drills in the Sea of Japan, the Russian Pacific Fleet’s Steregushchiy-class corvettes Gromky and Sovershenniy fired surface-to-air missiles at cruise missiles fired by a fake enemy, according to a press release from the Fleet’s press office.

The corvettes Sovershenniy and Gromky are the first and second serial-produced warships built at the Amur Shipyard as part of the Project 20380 program. The Russian missile corvettes of Project 20380 are designed to carry out green-water missions and strike enemy surface ships and submarines, as well as provide artillery support for an amphibious assault force in the event of a land invasion.
