Indonesian Navy commissions KRI Teluk Youtefa 522

The Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia โ€“ Angkatan Laut, or TNI-AL) has commissioned its third Teluk Bintuni-class landing ship tank (LST), KRI Teluk Youtefa, on July 12, 2021.

Theย Teluk Bintuniย class, Indonesian designationย AT-117Mย is a class ofย tank landing shipsย that is being built indigenously for theย Indonesian Navyย by various Indonesian local shipyards.

KRI Teluk Youtefa-522 is one of the five domestically produced Tank Transport (AT) ship from the PT.ย Daya Radar Utama (DRU) shipyard. She was laid down on 21 April 2017 and launched on 15 May 2019.ย KRI Teluk Youtefaย has now joined first-of-classย Teluk Bintuniย andย KRI Teluk Lada and will serve as part of the TNI-ALโ€™s strategic sealift command.

It was announced that the Indonesian Navy intends to acquire a total of twelve vessels of the same class with some modifications from the lead ship to improve the shipโ€™s capability.
