PT. Lundin launches KRI Golok 688 Trimaran for Indonesian Navy

The Republic of Indonesia Warship (KRI) Golok-688, built by PT. Lundin Industry was launched today with a ceremony held at the shipyard in Pantai Cacalan, Jawa Timur.

According to a TNI AL statement, The construction of the Trimaran Fast Missile Ship (KCR) ship is an important manifestation of meeting the needs of the Navy’s main weapon system in accordance with the existing strategic planning, including the wide area of ​​Indonesian waters that needs to be protected.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Yudo stated at the event that KRI Golok-688 is the first ship product built of composite material, boasting high specific strength, reduced weight, and superior fatigue and corrosion resistance. Therefore, this ship can be used as a development design as a prototype of a trimaran ship.

In addition, Kasal said that the construction of the KCR Trimaran ship certainly has a very strategic meaning for PT. Lundin Industry Invest as one of the national defense industries that have succeeded in developing defense industry technology for the national interest that is able to become a solution in an effort to reduce dependence on other countries.

The total length of the KRI Golok-688 Trimaran is 62.53 meters. It has a width of 16 meters, a height of 18.7 meters, and a weight of 53.1 tons. This trimaran has a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. It is equipped with a 30 mm cannon and a 12.7 mm gun. It can carry 25 crew members.
